"textContent": "****Weekly #LetUsPray****\n\nI offer this weekly #LetUsPray as a way to stay anchored amidst the turmoil of the day. For paid subscribers (and last-minute worship planners), I also offer some liturgical resources and sermon prompts based on the week's readings from The Revised Common Lectionary and/or The Narrative Lectionary. Each offering is written on Wednesday and published on Thursday, allowing me to focus on current events or issues.\n\nSign-Up Today\n\nApologies for the late posting this week. We are in the middle of a move and took a few days to escape the chaos. Albuequreque was a lovely host!\n\nToday's prayers could be applied to most struggles against injustice, but at this moment in time, one has risen to the top. I continue to be shocked that I can still be shocked by what comes out of the mouths of officials in the current administration regarding faith. If you had not seen this quote from Secretary of _War_ , Pete Hegseth, I apologize for ruining your day.\n\nAccording to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation over 200 complaints have been filed after Hegseth instructed Non-Comissioned officers to tell their troops the following,\n\n> President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.\n\n- Pete Hegseth (reported, 2026), prompting over 200 official complaints.\n\nFor those who believe that to have a theocratic Christian state of any ilk is antithetical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this prayer is for you. Of course, I have many, many, many thoughts about what the church should be doing in times like these, but because the most prevalent feeling that is coursing through my veins is rage, I am doing this as a series of breath prayers.****\n\n### For Those Fighting Christian Nationalism #LetUsPray\n\n _God with a deep and determined breath\nand with the world at war before me\nI pray —_\n\nInhale: _in my rage_\nExhale: _grant me righteousness_\n\nInhale: _in my bewilderment_\nExhale: grant me curiosity\n\nInhale: in my disappointment\nExhale: grant me understanding\n\nInhale: _in my sorrow_\nExhale: _grant me time_\n\nInhale: _in my narrowness_\nExhale: _grant me humility_\n\nInhale: _in my truth_\nExhale: _grant me nuance_\n\nInhale: _in my resistance_\nExhale: _grant me tenacity_\n\nInhale: _in my alienation_\nExhale: _grant me community_\n\nInhale: _for those who suffer_\nExhale: _grant me awareness_\n\nInhale: _for saints before me_\nExhale: _grant me gratitude_\n\nInhale: _for the unaware_\nExhale: _grant me fluency_\n\nInhale: _for those new to the fight_\nExhale: _grant me generosity_\n\nInhale: _for my enemy_\nExhale: grant me empathy\n\nInhale: _in my pessimism_\nExhale: _grant me_ hope\n\nInhale: _in my indifference_\nExhale: _grant me tenacity_\n\nInhale: _in my weariness_\nExhale:_grant me rest_\n\nInhale: _in my journey_\nExhale: _grant me joy_\n\n _God, at a depth of my spirit\nwhere only You can know\nFor these things I pray_\n\n _— AMEN_\n\nPeace,\n\n## LITURGY AND PREACHING PROMPTS\n\n#### Sunday, March 15, 2026: _Third Sunday in Lent_\n\nRCL Year A Readings (NRSV):**** | 1 Samuel 16:1-13 | Psalm 23 |Ephesians 5:8-14 |John 9:1-41\nNL434 Readings (CEB): John 18:28-40 | Psalm 145:10-13\n\n### This post is for subscribers only\n\nBecome a member to get access to all content\n\nSubscribe now",
