Above, you can see the Warhammer 40K: Armageddon display in our local Warhammer store. But one of the things in the photo is not like the others. Can you see it?

Yes, it's my original Rogue Trader -era 1st edition copy from 1987, when I was 15. This was the first edition of the game I bought – and the last. But, as our store was doing the big pre-order promotion, I thought it would be fun to bring it in as part of the celebrations.

Here it is in all its (battered) glory:

Now, the big question is: do I break my 39 year dry streak and buy a copy of Armageddon?

(And then, presumably, wait until 2056 and but the 21st edition, too…)


Blood for the Blood Angels

Out trip was our normal, mob-handed visit for the mini of the month, where I take youngest daughter and her friends along with us. We've missed a couple of months because of Easter and my accident. As well as the mini, they had the opportunity to do a guided painting of a Blood Angel. Here's what two 11 year olds managed…
