Hello World.

“Hello World” used to be the traditional way to introduce a new thing on the internet… and I guess me writing long(ish) form online for the first time in many years is a new thing. Especially writing in a place that isn’t my own website. That’s weird. I don’t know if I’ll keep it up or not. But I’m going to give it a try… have a play around with this new decentralized web ATproto business, beyond just reposting things on Bluesky and being grumpy that I never have any pithy little quips to make. I think I’ve always been better suited to essay-length writing than social media hot takes Do I actually have anything interesting or useful to say? That remains to be seen… but I’m tired of just screaming into the void inside my own head, and maybe if I get back into the habit of beating my thoughts into an outwardly coherent shape, the screaming will quiet down a bit. So, follow along if you like. I have some ranting to do. :-)
