G29 Brake pedal mod

Hey sim racers! I recently aquired a nice second hand G29 and i REALLY dislike the break pedal. I've seen mods where people remove the rubber stopper and i've tried that myself and it just makes the pedal feel way too squishy. Any experts that can shed some light on what mod you'd recommend to make the pedal feel abit better than the stock rubber?
