Tesla Model X, Model S recall (2017218)

Vehicles affected: TESLA MODEL X, MODEL S (2016) Summary: On certain vehicles, the Brembo electric parking brake calipers could contain an improperly manufactured internal gear that could break under load. If the gear broke, the parking brake would not release and could result in an inability to move a parked vehicle. If the gear broke prior to full parking brake engagement, the parking brake could have less holding force than intended, which could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Tesla Service Centers will replace the defective park brake calipers. Note: The regular braking system is not affected by this issue.
