Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of an upcoming electric version of the C-Class sedan, which will be marketed as the C-Class with EQ Technology. The image shows a silhouette of the vehicle, highlighting a design similar to the recently unveiled GLC with EQ Technology. Key elements include an illuminated “Iconic Grille” and updated daytime running light signatures. The front features four horizontal grille slats instead of three, along with redesigned headlights that incorporate a teardrop shape and Mercedes star-pattern LED accents. The C-Class EV will ride on Mercedes-Benz’s MB.EA platform, the same 800-volt architecture used in the GLC with EQ Technology. It is expected to use a battery pack similar in size to the GLC’s, which measures around 94 kWh. Due to the C-Class EV’s lower weight and more aerodynamic profile, range figures are expected to surpass those of the GLC. For reference, the GLC 400 4Matic with EQ Technology has a projected WLTP range of about 443 miles. In its most efficient single-motor configuration with smaller wheels, the C-Class EV is expected to approach or exceed 500 miles. Several features from the GLC with EQ Technology are likely to carry over to the C-Class EV, including rear-axle steering with up to 4.5 degrees of movement, adjustable air suspension, and a widescreen 39.1-inch MBUX display that spans the dashboard. The display will run the company’s MB.OS operating system, which integrates AI-powered features and updated infotainment controls. Performance-focused AMG versions of the C-Class EV are also anticipated. While Mercedes-Benz has not confirmed specifications, industry reports suggest AMG variants could include wide-body styling and significantly higher power output, positioning them to compete with upcoming high-performance electric sedans, such as BMW’s planned quad-motor M3 EV. Compared to the current combustion-powered W206 C-Class, the C-Class EV appears taller and more upright, adopting a distinct styling approach instead of following the existing sedan’s profile. Mercedes-Benz has not announced a launch date, but the company confirmed that the full reveal of the C-Class EV with EQ Technology will take place sometime next year.
