Two-component exciton condensates in an electron–hole bilayer

Nature, Published online: 10 June 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10636-y Macroscopic quantum coherence arises in two-component exciton Bose–Einstein condensates within MoSe2/hBN/WSe2 electron–hole bilayers, exhibiting distinct spin–valley polarized phases, quantum phase transitions under magnetic fields and stable condensate behaviour up to approximately 1.8 K.
