Gov. Healey slams brakes on data center tax incentives

Gov. Maura Healey announced on Thursday that the state will not accept applications for data center tax incentives — which she agreed to as part of a 2024 economic development law — unless developers can demonstrate that the data centers won't drive up costs or harm nearby communities.
