Andris Nelsons out as music director of Boston Symphony at end of 2026-27 season

Andris Nelsons is leaving as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra after the board decides not to renew him. The orchestra says Friday that leaders and Nelsons do not share the same long-term vision. Nelsons tells musicians he did not expect the decision.
